A travel blog focused on adventure and unique experiences.
In October (2024), my husband Larry and I quit our desk jobs to pursue a new adventure. I had worked in insurance for over seven years and had gotten comfortable. And although I love comfort and security, I needed to challenge myself. So we set off on a mission to get uncomfortable.
We booked trips to carry us through a year-long "sabbatical" and said goodbye to our careers. We came up with a list of bucket-list destinations and did extensive research on how to make the most of our year. During our research, I realized most travel blogs I came across were either fully city-focused or fully nature-focused but we are looking for a healthy mix of both. The trips we wanted to take were a bit out of the ordinary and off the beaten path.
That's where this blog comes in! Instead of compiling information from multiple sources, hopefully I can provide a one-stop-shop for affordable, unique, and adventure-packed trips, including itineraries, tips and tricks, and must-see attractions.

You may be asking yourself, what does "passport personality" mean? I was listening to one of my favorite podcasts, Toni and Ryan, and they were talking about how they are a totally different version of themselves when they're abroad and coined it their passport personality. And I've never related to anything more. When I'm traveling, I am my best and most adventurous self. I jump off cliffs and climb mountains and embrace spontaneity. All things I would never do unless I'm in a new place making the most of my time there.
Now I'll be honest, I'm not one for words. I can't count the number of cute little diaries I had when I was little that have one single entry. I tried so many times to start a journal to no avail. "Dear Diary..." never felt authentic to me and I never really had much to say, I'm too pragmatic and not a great story-teller. But, I am truly living out my dream and embracing my passport personality and I must say, I'm very good at planning vacations. I love to optimize time and money, I do have a Master's of Mathematics after all (re: I'm not good with words). So here we are!
So, I promise to keep it short and sweet and loaded with information, you know, to optimize your time. Follow along as we explore the world as newlyweds!
